For nearly 100 years, Greek Sing has been a cornerstone of Carnegie Mellon's rich history and traditions.
Initially centered on traditional singing performances, the program gradually evolved into a large-scale theatrical production that blends singing, choreography, comedy, and storytelling.
A hallmark of CMU’s Greek Sing tradition is its emphasis on chapter-wide participation. Performances are collectively developed and rehearsed over weeks—sometimes months—encouraging members to work across class years and leadership roles. For many students, Greek Sing becomes one of the defining experiences of their membership, fostering leadership development, artistic expression, and strong internal bonding.
Today, Greek Sing remains a signature annual tradition at Carnegie Mellon University, drawing students, alumni, families, and campus partners together. More than a competition, it serves as a celebration of community, creativity, and shared tradition—honoring both the history of the event and the evolving spirit of CMU’s fraternity and sorority life.
