Clubs

Roles and Responsibilities

President

  • Maintain constant communication with Tepper administration and serve as the Part-Time liaison for all Tepper staff/faculty when addressing Part-Time specific student concerns
  • Build, guide, and set direction for the Part-Time GBA and oversee key initiatives
  • Facilitate the interaction between the Part-Time and Full-Time GBAs and PT representation to the larger Tepper community
  • Promote Part-Time students’ awareness of key Tepper opportunities, events, and information
  • Listen and respond to student concerns (in person, through email, and other communication forms)

Vice President

  • Actively engage and represent the entire PT student community alongside the PT GBA President
  • Coordinate the formation of any committees, as required, for GBA Officer support on larger events and initiatives
  • Solicit feedback from students around academic offerings as part of periodic GBA surveys to the PT student body. Summarize and provide academic feedback to the PT program office
  • Lead diversity & inclusion initiatives to ensure that all members of the PT student community are represented and heard. Work with the Tepper administration, FT GBA DEI counterpart, and Professional Development Officer to ensure that PT students are given the opportunity to grow into inclusive leaders

Professional Development

  • Serve as primary point of contact with the MCC (Masters Career Center) to ensure that Part-Time students have access to career path and recruiting resources that they specifically need
  • Serve as primary point of contact with the ALC (Accelerate Leadership Center) to ensure that Part-Time students have access to leadership development resources that they specifically need
  • Communicate professional development opportunities and programming to the student body
  • Work with MCC and Alumni Relations to ensure networking opportunities for current students

Alumni Relations

  • Facilitate the relationship between PT students and the Tepper Alumni community by creating opportunities to network and connect
  • Serve as the main point of contact to the Tepper Alumni Office for the PT cohorts and provide PT feedback on the resources offered
  • Identify opportunities for mentorship between Tepper Alumni and the outgoing 3rd year cohort

Clubs

  • Advocate for part-time student needs to clubs, particularly in the areas of enabling remote access, scheduling PT-friendly evening events, and offering reduced fees for part-time members
  • Communicate upcoming club events, particularly ‘remote friendly’ events, to PT students
  • Work with Associate Director of Learning Technologies to enable remote club participation
  • Coordinate and host an annual club fair for PT students to increase exposure of club opportunities to part time students

Marketing

  • Promote the PT MBA student experience both externally to prospective students and internally among the PT student cohorts
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the Tepper Marketing Department, working to solicit PT student participation in Marketing initiatives (Instagram Takeover, Ask Me Anything Sessions, Blogs, etc) and to communicate PT student stories and successes to the Marketing Department
  • Act as communications lead within the PT student community by owning the weekly newsletter and any additional student-wide communications. Solicit input from the appropriate PT GBA Officers for newsletter content

Social - Local Activities

  • Organize social events during the semester in Pittsburgh, geared towards engaging diverse members of the part-time class including students with children, students with partners, and students with varying interests (bars, the outdoors, foodies, etc.)
  • Work with the Full-Time GBA Activities Executive Officer to increase Part-Time participation in on campus business school competitions, games, activities, and final semester dances
  • Provide support to VP of Social Events - Distance during social activities for PGH Access Weekends

Social - Remote Activities

  • Organize social events during Access Weekends, outside of regularly occurring events (such as B**rs), geared towards engaging diverse members of the Part-Time class
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure that logistics are aligned for social events planned outside of Pittsburgh Access Weekends
  • Collect feedback from the Part-Time student community on the types of social events that are desired during Access Weekends

Admissions

  • Facilitate relationships among cohorts by creating opportunities for cohorts to come together
  • Coordinate and manage the PT mentorship program
  • Work with admissions team to facilitate incoming student connections, ensure appropriate transition into program, and communicate before program entry via email-a-thon and serve as primary point of contact for Admissions, which includes:
  • Coordinating on-campus class visits for prospective students

Finance

  • Create and maintain budget for all Part-Time GBA activities, initiatives, and events
  • Work with Full-Time GBA finance officer, Student Services, and other Part-Time GBA officers on reimbursement process
