    We host an annual alumni event and game on the Saturday of Spring Carnival, and all team alumni are welcome! The event will include an alumni game followed by a party with food and drinks. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the form linked here.

    The 2026 alumni game was held on Saturday, April 11 at 12:30pm at the Roy McKnight Hockey Center in Fox Chapel. Interested or attending alumni should fill our the form linked here to RSVP.  For any questions regarding the Alumni Game or alumni involvement, please visit the Contact Us page to reach the officers.

    Next year's game is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2027.  More info will be provided in Spring 2027 via our social medias, alumni groups, newsletter, and this website.

  • 2025-26 Season

    The Tartans went 4-5-1 in league play and just missed out on reaching the CHE M4 playoffs.  The team graduated seven players: Rylan Morgan, Oliver Bauer, Jaden Li, Brian MacSweeney, Alex Lewis, Om Arora-Jain, and Daniel Cha.  Captains were Ryan Scheftic, Quintin Ross, and Ben Iorio.

    For the 2025-26 season, Slippery Rock and West Virginia were added to the CHE M4 division.  The team partnered with the CMU Bookstore and Lowsport Gear to bring a jersey styled hoodie to the store.  Two practices were added at the start of the season as a mini-camp, the team held weekly film sessions, charged a gate fee at home games, and collected sponsorships for the first time since re-establishment.  The team brought back the Alumni Game and were featured on CMU's main Instagram pages for the Winter Olympics and Valentine's Day.

    Alongside CMU club sports director Jarrod Novotny, the officers began exploring the addition of a women's hockey team.  The officers are proud to announce CMU's women's hockey initiative, headed by team member Evie Wright.

  • 2024-25 Season

    The Tartans went 3-4-2 in league play and just missed out on reaching the CHE M4 playoffs.  They were the only team to defeat and tie Penn State Altoona. The team graduated six players: Jacob Morin, Carter Weaver, Brendan Wilhelm, Kevin Wang, Jamshed Panthaki, and Brian Kim. Captains were Ryan Scheftic and Quintin Ross.

    For the 2024-25 season, the Tartans began their partnership with The House Apparel and House 'O' Hockey to produce the team's jerseys and merch store.  The old Facebook account was rejuvenated and regular posts were made to all of our social medias.

  • 2023-24 Season

    The Tartans went 4-5 in league play and advanced to the CHE M4 Finals, falling 3-2 to Robert Morris.  The team graduated six players: Nick Beach, Thomas Cross, Terry Feng, Alex Lee, Fernando Lisboa, and Jason Stentz. Captains were Nick Beach, Jacob Morin, and Jaden Li.

    For the 2023-24 season, the Tartans unveiled their new jerseys and logo and advanced to the post-season for the first time post-COVID.

  • 2021-22 and 2022-23 Seasons

    The 2021-22 season marked the return of the CMU Tartan Hockey club!  The team played two games at Frozen Pond and had finally accomplished a full re-establishment.  In 2022-23, the Tartans rejoined College Hockey East, this time in the M4 division.

  • Previous Seasons and Club Background

    Founded in 1971, Carnegie Mellon Ice Hockey has allowed students to continue their hockey careers at CMU.  Originally a member of WPIHA, CMU joined the college hockey scene in a division featuring Pitt, Duquesne, St. Vincent, IUP, Penn State, and St. Francis.  The organization was re-established for the 2021-22 season after a period of low membership and a halt due to COVID-19.  Check out some of the links below to learn more about our history.
