The Broad Residency Visit Tomorrow

Narrow. Limited. Simply not Broad enough. Internships and jobs always look good on paper, but if you want to make a lasting impact on society, perhaps it's time to consider something a little different. The Broad Residency's resident Resident recruitment team (read it thrice!) will be on campus tomorrow, October 30th, to discuss how Tepper MBAs like you (whether or not your name is somehow also a prominent financial services firm) can help redefine public education. Unfortunately, as a product of French Montessori and Brahmin Boys Boarding schools, I find it incredibly difficult to relate to the challenges faced by ordinary children and their families -- but I suspect many of you will get a lot out of this event. 2015 Net Impact Case Competition

The Leeds School of Business -- which incidentally is not in the same geographical category as Cambridge-Judge, Oxford-Said, or LBS, but is surely benefiting heartily from that misconception -- will be hosting the 14th annual Net Impact Case Competition in Boulder next year. In what I imagine is a simultaneous attempt to save paper and push NICC as far into the Digital Future as humanly possible, all they're requiring for the first round is an electronically-submitted PowerPoint deck. So: Can this competition remain sustainable for many years to come? And will the Confused Cantabrigians finally stake their claim to the crown -- or will those plucky Georgia Bulldogettes once again take off with the £6260.92 tiara? We'll just have to wait and see!

National Parks Business Plan Internship

National Parks have the most epic names! Badlands in South Dakota, Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado, Crater Lake in Oregon, Death Valley in California and Nevada, Gates of the Arctic in Alaska, Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, Wind Cave in South Dakota, Zion in Utah; the list goes on. Can't forget my own dear Shenandoah, where the mountain men gave me my first taste of chicken hearts, banjo jams, and Virginia cherry wine. Well, so, you can keep your standing desks and in-house happy hours -- I'd rather get loose and maybe fall in love again at the base of a 1,000 year redwood. There's a webinar coming up on November 13th for all you first-year stargazers. I really wish I had done this myself -- you'll probably even get to live in a park ...
