Forgotten Warriors: The Long History of Women in Combat

Join CMIST during Women's History month as we connect with International Relations expert, Sarah Percy, live from Australia for a discussion on her recent book Forgotten Warriors: The Long History of Women in Combat. Dr. Percy will explore the historic role women have had in combat. She sets the historical record straight, revealing that women’s exclusion from active combat in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries is a blip in a much longer narrative of female inclusion.  Hosted by CMIST Director, Audrey Kurth Cronin, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with Dr. Percy in real-time after her presentation.
Tuesday, March 26 from 5:00-6:15 pm in the Grand Room (Posner Hall 340) Light refreshments will be served at 4:30 pm.

Politics & Pie

Stop by to talk with CMIST faculty, academic advisors, and your peers to learn about the wide variety of international relations and political science courses offered by CMIST in Fall 2024 - all while enjoying delicious pie from Piebird! Thursday March 28th, 5:00-6:00PM in the Grand Room (Posner Hall 340)

The Carnegie Mellon University Chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society is a student-run organization that is a part of a larger organization of students, faculty, national policy leaders, and captains of finance and industry. The society seeks to develop the next generation of American leaders, initially through discussions and forums on campus, then to intellectual and professional development that will launch Hamiltonians into careers of public service, academia, and business.
