About Us

The mission of CMU Women in BME is to bring knowledge, networking opportunities, and mentorship to women in Biomedical Engineering (BME). Our efforts are aimed at closing the gender gap by increasing the number of women who i) enter the field, ii) pursue higher education, and iii) obtain positions of elevated rank within companies and universities. Our organization is open to individuals of all genders. Members include graduate students, individuals working in industry, and professors interested in discussing the impact of gender in BME and closely-related disciplines.
