Explore the intersection of improvisation and poetry in this interactive workshop. Learn to build poems on the fly, speak mindfully, and add lyricality to your writing and performance. Participants will learn to tap into their unique voice and craft evocative language that vividly communicates both by their choice and delivery. They will discover how to build cohesive poems on the fly, incorporating prompts and unleashing your own creative sparks. Finally, they'll gain the confidence to deliver your improvised poems with power and presence, adding a captivating layer of lyricism to your performance. This workshop is for aspiring writers, seasoned improvisers, and anyone curious about poetry.

Speakers
Shaun Landry
Shaun Landry founded The Ledge Theatre in Los Angeles, which does improvisation, sketch, poetry, and storytelling and is more geared specifically to diversity in theater. She was a member of The Second City Chicago, Geese Theatre Company (drama therapy in prisons and penitentiaries), and Co-Founded The San Francisco Improv Festival. She performs with improv and life partner Hans Summers as Landry and Summers. As a SAG Actor, she can be seen in the movies Milk, Read You Like A Book, and BAD CGI SHARKS. She can be read in the book Whose Improv Is It Anyway? Beyond The Second City about diversity in improvisational theater.
