About Us
Partners Allied in Community Engagement (PACE) is part of the community engagement student staff housed in the Community Engagement and Leadership Development Office. PACE is comprised of paid student staff members who coordinate a wide range community engagement activities for students, helping to establish a pervasive culture of community engagement on campus. Community engagement involves a mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and/or effort between CMU and the community. We center an asset-based mindset, acknowledging and valuing the knowledge and lived experiences of community members we have the opportunity to work alongside. Community engagement efforts, which can include hands-on projects designed to meet community-identified needs, educational opportunities to explore the complexity of social issues, and democratic engagement, PACE strives to positively impact the local community through our programs. PACE offers: -Serve and Learn projects that directly support the mission of our community partners -Educational programs such as workshops, lunch and learns, guest speakers, book clubs, and more -Consultation and support for CAs and RAs, student orgs and FSL groups to plan community engagement events Follow us on Instagram @cmupace
