Mission
The primary purpose of CMU EMS is to provide professional, high quality, timely, reliable and
appropriate pre-hospital treatment for medical emergencies within our coverage area. The secondary purpose of the organization is to provide a community for EMS providers at Carnegie Mellon as well as an opportunity for those providers to practice emergency medicine. The tertiary purposes of the organization include training members of CMU EMS, the Carnegie Mellon community, and surrounding communities in emergency medical skills, coordinating training with other medical organizations, and providing community outreach training in injury awareness and prevention to reduce the overall incidence of injury and illness that requires emergency medical attention.
