About Us

The Special Olympics strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people: through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills, and success. The Three Rivers Region branch of Special Olympics has hosted its regional competition, the Western Spring Sectional, on the Carnegie Mellon University campus since 2016. This student-run organization aims to bolster student, faculty, and CMU engagement to volunteer for the Western Spring Sectional. We assist Special Olympics' Three Rivers Region in recruiting volunteers and committee leads for the event, lead on-campus marketing strategies to the general CMU population, and engage with CMU clubs and faculty to promote the Western Spring Sectional event. Our organization is advised by the Regional Sports Directors of the Special Olympics Three Rivers Region.
