***** Fill out our Join Form (https://www.cmubdc.com/join) to stay updated on all of our lessons and events! ***** CLASSES: We provide our members with weekly beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes, taught both by experienced students and professional instructors. A sampling of the repertoire includes Jive, Swing, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Waltz, Salsa, Bachata, Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba, Viennese Waltz, Tango, and International and American variations of many dances. We start by teaching the basics, so if you ever wanted to learn to dance, we are the place to start! Private lessons are also available upon request. EVENTS: Every year, we host a Mock Competition open to viewing, our own home competition (Carnegie Classic) and our own formal dance Scotch Ball along with numerous socials throughout the semester. All events are open to anyone in the Pittsburgh community, and include food, games, and of course, dancing! At the beginning of every semester we also hold "Ballroom Rush," where we provide you with the opportunity to sample some of our lessons and meet our members. PERFORMANCES: Throughout the years, we have performed at many on-campus events (DS, Dance Marathon, Noche Latina, Casino Night, etc), as well as numerous off-campus gatherings. If you would like us to do a performance and/or teach a lesson at your event, don't hesitate to ask! COMPETITION TEAM: The competition team is a great chance to push yourself to the next level, and to dance with a group of talented and highly motivated people. Expert dancers and novices welcome - there are levels ranging from Newcomer to Champ, and you register only for the dances you want to perform. Join the CMU team at exciting collegiate and national competitions throughout the semester! We travel all over the East Coast and the Midwest, meet new people, and have a blast.
