On behalf of the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business (NYU Stern) and the Stern Investment Management & Research Society (SIMR), we would like to officially invite you to the second annual Stern Stock Pitch Competition on Friday, November 21, 2025, at NYU Stern’s campus in New York City.

We loved having you join us for last year’s competition, and we’d be delighted to welcome you back for this year’s edition.

The event challenges top MBA students with an interest in equity research and investment management to present investment recommendations and defend them in front of a panel of practitioners. The competition provides MBA students the valuable opportunity to practice pitching skills and the chance to interact with potential employers in-person.

Attached is a short deck with additional information about the event, including logistics, the competition format, and judging criteria.

A brief tentative agenda of the competition is as below:

8:30-10:30 AM Registration and Breakfast, Coffee Chats and Networking

10:30-11:30 AM Elimination Round

11:30-1:00 PM Keynote Speaker and Lunch

1:00-4:00 PM Finals

4:00-5:00 PM Awarding and Closing Remarks

The pitch teams should consist of three students, with a maximum of two (2) teams per school allowed to participate in the competition. Participating teams are encouraged to strive for diversity, equity, and inclusion in their composition. Each team may include no more than one (1) second-year MBA candidate (MBA2) and no alternates. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, a team may request approval to substitute a member or proceed with the remaining team members.

Cash prizes* consist of $1,500 for first place and $1,000 for second place, and $500 for third place.

Please let us know, by replying to this email and confirming, if your school plans to participate in the competition by Friday, October 24, 2024.

More details will be shared once your university confirms participation, including the registration form, payment instructions, detailed agenda, and participating teams. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the competition, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
