AB Presents: Carnival Comedy Night Featuring Melissa Villaseñor w/ Ariel Elias

Melissa Villaseñor is coming to Carnegie Mellon to do a comedy show! Ariel Elias will open for her.
Melissa Villaseñor broke barriers by becoming the first-ever Latina cast member of Saturday
Night Live. A comedic impressions expert, she got her start as a semifinalist on America’s Got
Talent. Some of Melissa’s most memorable impressions include Owen Wilson, Lady Gaga, and
Dolly Parton.
An accomplished voice actor, she has been part of films such as Toy Story 4 and Wreck It Ralph
2, among dozens of television shows. Melissa was a guest on Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in
Cars Getting Coffee, as well as Hubie Halloween, Barry, Crashing, and Awkwafina is Nora From
Queens.
The Independent Spirit Awards tapped Villaseñor as their host in 2021, the same year she
headlined a sold-out cross country comedy tour.
Chronicle Books will be publishing her upcoming book, a creative self-help journal featuring her
original art, available summer of 2022.

Ariel Elias is a comedian living in New York City. Growing up, this Kentucky Jew made
everyone laugh at her bat mitzvah, and the rest is history. Today, her comedy is a fun
mesh of unique, personal stories mixed with witty and wry observations.
Described as “a sly young comic from Kentucky” by the New York Times, Ariel has also
been featured in Rolling Stone, the Washington Post, and on Good Morning
America. As a traveling stand up comedian, she has performed on the set of the
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and was named a “New Face” at the 2021 Just For Laughs
Comedy Festival.
After catching Jimmy Kimmel’s attention with a viral stand up clip that displayed her cool,
calm, and hilarious composure, he invited Ariel to make her late night television debut on
Jimmy Kimmel Live! In the same week she also appeared for an interview on the
daytime talk show, Sherri.
When not performing or writing, she’s probably petting a dog or struggling through a
puzzle.
