Mission
CMU has a long history of an interest in creating a globally prepared student body. This goal is a necessary one as CMU students go on to leadership positions in industries around the world. Similarly, CMU is full of speakers/learners of the wide variety of the world's languages. However, English is nearly always the lingua franca of most work at CMU. Our organization hopes to act as a place where those interested in using/practicing a heritage/native/second language or understanding how languages can be better learned can meet. This will provide an opportunity for those interested to have a chance to use languages other than English and learn about how language learning works. In this way, our organization -at its heart- aims to practice inclusivity that allows students to learn from each other and network to gain access to opportunities.
