Spring 2026 International Student Orientation and SEVIS Registration (Pittsburgh Campus)

All incoming international students in F-1/J-1 status on Carnegie Mellon University issued Form I-20/DS-2019 documents, are required to complete a mandatory immigration check-in and orientation program with OIE upon arrival to CMU. This orientation is separate from the university's Graduate Student Orientation and is intended to welcome students to campus and have the information and resources you need in order to be successful at CMU. Please arrive on-time as late arrivals will not be admitted and will have to reschedule for another session.

Before attending the OIE Welcome and Immigration Check-in:

• Complete the OIE Orientation Canvas Course and take the Quiz at the end
• Update your address in SIO
• Submit the "Mandatory Immigration Check-in for New/Return from Leave Students" E-Form in your MyOIE Portal.

Please bring the following documents with you:

• Printed and signed I-20 (F-1 students) or DS-2019 (J-1 students)
• Passport with current visa sticker
