Mission Camp Kesem is a camp dedicated to helping kids move through and beyond their parent'scancer. Camp Kesem is a national non-profit organization that was started at Stanford University in 2000. Since then Camp Kesem has started 86 chapters and has helped bring a free week of summer camp to more than 6000 kids each year. Camp Kesem gives kids a week to be kids and help them meet others who can support them and relate to what they have been through. It also gives parents a week off so they don't have to worry about their kids. Camp Kesem brings families together and creates a community of support among them. Camp Kesem also helps connect the community to the cause and gives everyone a chance to contribute and make a difference. Kesem means magic in Hebrew and it is said that the kids and counselors make magic at camp. Here at Carnegie Mellon University we look for students who are dedicated, passionate, and eager to get involved. Camp Kesem welcomes any and all members of the CK community, and allow students to serve under various officer positions. CK alumni and community partners may only serve as associates.
