About Us

The purpose of the African Graduate Student Association is to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for graduate students of African descent at Carnegie Mellon University. Through social, cultural, and professional development events throughout the academic year, we aim to enable our members to become advocates on issues pertaining to development in Africa. Our hope is to engage with the CMU community through our events to create awareness of the cultural and socio-economic riches of the African Continent.
